We aim to have a workforce that, at all levels, reflects the vast diversity of our consumer base, and we want every employee to feel they can be real and authentic.
We know both diversity and inclusion are business imperatives: Diversity helps us better understand what our increasingly diverse consumers want and love, and inclusion helps to bolster employee productivity
How Kapable helps us create an inclusive workplace
Kellogg's resource group for those with disabilities and supporters, Kapable, ensures that our company has a welcoming and inclusive environment for current and future employees and their supporters. With this mission always in mind, the Kapable team is continually looking for ways to better our company’s culture, hold inspiring, educational events for employees and make a positive impact in our local communities.
In May, Kapable held an Awareness and Education event where Kellogg leaders spoke about how we can encourage our employees to bring their best self to work. The goal of this session was to help both employees and managers understand the benefits of self-identifying, how to support the workforce that has self-identified, and encourage those that haven’t self-identified to do so. By educating employees on how to update your personal information, discuss how the accommodation process works at Kellogg, and answer specific questions, we helped create a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.
At Kellogg, we know a diverse workforce is essential to the success of our business and Senior Director of Employee Relations, Ja’Ethel Williams, sums it up perfectly when she said, “We want to promote a community where, regardless of your limitations or different abilities, you can bring your best self to work. We want to make sure we help you be your best—that’s our primary focus as an organization.
Our Commitment to Diversity
Kellogg Company’s commitment to diversity can be traced back to our founder, W.K. Kellogg, who was a pioneer in employing women in the workplace and reaching across cultural boundaries. The company continues his legacy more than 100 years later by making diversity and inclusion top priorities.
A Message from Our President and CEO, John Bryant
“We believe diversity and inclusion are essential to living our values, achieving our business goals and building a stronger Kellogg. In an increasingly competitive global marketplace, we can only succeed when we attract and retain the best talent and when our employees reflect the diversity of our consumers.
And we are committed to creating an environment where all employees are included, are treated with dignity and respect and are in a position to contribute to our future success. Fostering all employees’ passion for our business will help us win in the marketplace.”
